This year without a doubt this Presidential election will make history.Wether the Obamy/Biden or the McCain/Palin Ticket win this election history is upon us. Our children will look back and read about the crossroads of this Great Nation. We must not use the Greedy Corporates CEO's or the Poor disadvantaged illegal immigrants that for some magical causation seem to escape the wrath of the Law. Historically, our nation seems to choose a escape goat for the social, financial, and national ills and either establish laws that are racist and intolerant such as the Chinese Exclusion Act, Deport in majoral numbers immigrants of Spanish-decent, encapsulate the Japenese in Detention camps, or enslave blacks and seem them all as the problem. Not one reason can be provided in fairness that all these people were the cause for the demise of our nation. As a nation we are all responsible for what our nation goes through. That's standing for your country. In some way, we all have made decisions that have contributed to the errosion of this country. Some may not stated as this may seem to uncover their character. As for the teacher that made this recent comment, I want to make it clear that not all immigrants behave in such wreckless form. However, I do agree that some of them do abuse the system and the services they receive. To those I say, "Return to your Country." But for the Law abiding immigrants we must use wise judgement in all fairness.One of the factors that made this country great is work ethics and love for the job that one performed. That....has been lost! We can complaint that our jobs are heading overseas when we prefer not get our hands wet and our feet soiled. There are other people in the world who have the hunger to succeed and will not whine about getting their hands dirty for lesser wages. We have forgotten about that. So you say, "we dont want immigrants to do our jobs. Fine. Drop your Starbucks cup of fine jaba and grab a mop or sweep some dirt, wash some toilets, and some dishes, pick onions, pick cotton, and pick your own strawberries. It's simple, but we rather complaint and not so what is right. But you say, I'm a Teacher, or an Executive and that's not my job.....DON 9;T COMPLAINT.....B ECAUSE IF YOU DO.......YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM.We need to get back to basics and value hard work, good work ethic, pride of your job, and work together as a Nation. I ended upbuying new computers for the computer learning center, half ofwhich, one month later, have been carved with graffiti bythe appreciative students who obviously feel humbled and grateful tohave a free education in America (OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK) I have had to intervene several times for young and substitute teacherswhose classes consist of many illegal immigrant students here inthe country less then 3 months who raised so much hell with thefemale teachers, calling them 'Putas 9; (whores) and throwing thingsthat the teachers were in tears. Free medical, free education, free food, day care, etc., etc,etc. Is it any wonder they feel entitled to not only be in thiscountry but to demand rights, privileges and entitlements?To those who want to point out how much these illegal immigrantscontr ibute to our society because they LIKE their gardener andhousekeeper and they like to pay less for tomatoes: spend some time inthe real world of illegal immigration and see the TRUEcosts. I lived in Nigeria West Africa and respect the fact that Obama grew up in the Mideast, which would be an advantage for a U.S. President in dealing with foreign leaders. I have been sending many messages on websites against Fox News for all their slander. Obama should not have to answer to them. It is not their business what church he goes to and I as a White Woman agree with much of what his Pastor said. Obama is a good man, he needs to get tougher on this campaign. You lost my vote. I guess cheap labor, and trading votes for "citizenship," is more important than the general welfare of your own people.We will never restore our middle class as long as we send our jobs to cheap labor, and bring cheap labor here. I guess as long as we are giving the business class cheap labor, we might as well recognize that we are already subsidizing the education, medicine, and incarceration costs of "cheap" labor for our business class. I have always been a fairly strong Republican, however, Obama will be getting my vote. Why? 1) I am not happy with any of the gentlemen running on the Republican side. 2) Hillary Clinton is probably the WORST thing that can happen to our country. She is a sot, especially when it comes to health care, and for those of us with serious medical issue, her ideas are simply the worst thing anyone can imagine. Good question April, and I'll be happy to explain. I've spent nearly every minute of my spare time for the past year promoting Obama anywhere I can find a place that would be appropriate. Through this website, all the images people hotlink into their myspace pages, and through my own promoting of Obama, this website has the potential to get Obama into the minds of millions of younger voters that might not have been reached without it. I could be watching TV and drinking beer, but instead I'm trying to get Obama elected as best as I can. If you don't think my effort deserves a few dollars thrown my way every once in a while, then I don't know what to say. Money isn't the only thing that Obama needs to win an election... yes it helps, but what I truly believe is that he needs a bunch of highly motivated people such as myself spending 40+ hours a week on top of their regular job helping to promote him. Let me start off by saying that I can truely believe that race and sex are not fueling the election. I think America has a lot of young voters that did not grow up in segregated communities or in times that women had no rights. Most of us are modern Americans that grew up in diverse communities. Edwards didn't play the "breck girl" thing up enough in 2004. He'd have made a better showing.
