Why does everything have to be about race and ethnicity. Who cares that Obama is black? Worry about his stance on issues, his experience, and his goals. I feel like some people want to vote for him only because it would be "cool" to have a "black" president. This nation would be so much stronger if idiots would stop saying that. Yes, I think it would show growth of our nation to elect an african american to the highest office, but lets not make that the issue. Instead, lets vote for the most QUALIFIED. Qualifications have seemed to side step this campaign, instead it is race and gender driven. Think about our country and what's best for it.
On another note, is having a once muslim (I don't care for how long) man best for us? Hell no! What I do know is that we are at war. Like it or not, we are. Like it or not, terrorism came and invaded us. They attacked us first. What is with you uneducated people saying that Bush did all this. Last time I checked, planes crashed into our buildings, and President Bush WAS NOT the pilot!!
"We need change"... What change is it that you are talking about? Not that I don't agree with that statement, but Clinton and Obama are making some pretty strong statements about changing our health care system and making it universal. This is a fabulous idea, in theory, but HOW will they do that? Niether of them have really laid that plan out. So what it sounds like to me is, tax us, the people who work for a living, so we can pay for people who don't. Great idea! I am not a supporter of Ron Paul, but at least he has the balls to speak what every one is thinking. On an interview with Glen Beck he talked about all he wanted to change and actually had a plan on how he would change it.
Honesty isn't a thought in these candidates minds. Why doesn't someone finally say hey, if you are on the welfare system and are collecting money to support your family, DON'T have another kid - YOU CAN'T afford the one(s) you have. But do we? No, that would be taking away their rights. I say that if we join the welfare with 1 kid, that is it, that is all you get supported for. If you chose to have another kid, s to be you, get a FRIGGIN' job!!!!!!!!!!! But do our politicians work that way? No, there is no way they would have the balls to be honest. Honesty, that is what I want in a presidential candidate. With all the hype over Obama's religion and background, why doesn't he stop the speculation and just tell the American people who he really is? You know that he has to be aware of the talk. Clear the air! Some might disagree and say that he shouldn't have to because that is his personal life and religion shouldn't matter, but when someone decides to run for a public office, their life becomes public!

I know that Barack Obama is aware of the mess that this country is in, and he is aware that if not seriously helped this country will go down in a catastrophic turmoil. What grasps my attention the most, is the fact that he is not motivated to be president only because of the problems that this country is currently going through, but by the "smallness" of the government or political party that is running our congress today. This as it should inspire not only me but everyone that really wants "change we can believe in."

i've long loved obama, ever since he addressed the democratic national convention. on saturday night, as he delivered his victory speech in south carolina, i finally realized why. there is a magnificence to this man, from his straight-from-t he-shoulder way of speaking to the proud carriage of his head. at each burst of thunderous applause, obama would lift his head high and survey the crowd—not with the arrogance of a dictator but with the attentiveness of a great leader, a look of mission, compion and belief in himself and in the people who put him up there. america would be foolish indeed to p up this chance for a great and inspiring leader. hillary is smart and savvy but too versed in the ways of washington; also, i was disgusted and disappointed by the low road bubba took with obama in the last couple of weeks, saying things i'd expect to hear from a moron like sean hannity. obama has never taken the low road, and it's time america joined him on higher ground.

Barack Obama was a great support to my parents and the thousands of other Maytag employees of Galesburg, Il who sadly lost their jobs in 2005. He showed great compion and concern that NO other politician had for us at such a devastating time. The factory, not surprisingly, moved their location to Mexico. Obama toured the smallest towns of Illinois in the early 2000s with his ideas of hope and change. He was a great inspiration to us in Illinois. We all new years ago he would be in this great position today; speaking for the middle cl in Illinois and the U.S.

barack obama should be president and hillary could be vice president because there both have had experince and they would be good and really change and do something for the world and country . think about the childern today most of them are already in jail!!!! In response to the ignorant comment left by JW there, I would simply say that the sort of religious intolerance which you are espousing is EXACTLY why our great nation exists today. Do you not remember that our forefathers came here to escape religious persecution and the tyranny of monarchy? This nation is founded upon the principal of religious freedom for all. Every man, regardless of race or religious affiliation has a right to be president, so long as they EARN it. I would most certainly vote for a Muslim, if I believed in what they stood for-- just the same as I would vote for a Christian, Jew, Buddhist, or anyone else who put forth a message of hope for a nation which truly needs it. And when it comes down to it, your fervor is misspent, since Barack Obama is NOT muslim, but CHRISTIAN.

Religion does matter, This guy is a Muslim, I cant believe that people is this country would even consider casting their votes for a MUSLIM!. This guy wont even put his hand to his heart during The Pledge of Allegiance or when our National Anthem is sung. But he wants to be President?

Barack Obama's school that you supposedly claim is a "muslim" school is actually a public school in Indonesia and it doesn't emphasize on any one religion. This school held children there of many different religions. The so called muslim school your claiming that he went to, would be known as a "madra".
