As a WVU alumnus, Mountaineer fan, labor union organizer and present Miami, Florida resident I hope all of you work your butts off to change the image of WV and elect Obama as President. There has been no candidate in my lifetime that could mean as much for the average person in WV than Barack Obama.

I'm 57 and going with Obama. I'm just tired of all the racebaiting and fearmongering. And to paint all working cl white people, like me racist just boggles the mind. I don't care what color he is. I want the kind of leadership that brings people together. And that my friends is Barack Obama.

I live outside the US and have been following the elections closely. I sincerely hope Obama is elected as the President of the United States as he carries a strong message of positivism, peace, unity and renewal. This means alot to the rest of the world and I hope the American people make this dream come true. I also hope that Al Gore is the VP.

As an older white woman, by all rights I should be supporting Hillary Clinton ... BUT I have done a lot of research on both candidates, listened carefully to every debate and their campaign speeches and have decided to support Sen. Obama. Here are my reasons:
I visited each candidates web site and did research on the things they claim to have done during their "experience" in the political arena. Hillary has claimed the SCHIP program. In fact this program was created by Ted Kennedy not Hillary. She never mentions his name on her website but takes credit for this program. She does not have the "foreign policy" experience she claims to have. She also failed to get people working together to p her universal health care program in the 90's. And as Senator she mismanaged the billions of funds she got after 9/11 - the money went to large corporations not the "people" and companies not even located in NY. Her mis-statements go far beyond dodging bullets in Bosnia. I do not believe anything she says. It's all just to get your vote.
I watched each of them manage their campaign and I learned this:
Sen. Obama has done an excellent job finding the right people for the right job. He inspires his people and the voters including the young. He has managed to raise more money from ordinary folks like you and I than any other candidate EVER - over 1.3 million people, not from large corporations wanting something in return. He is an excellent leader. As far as the gas tax "vacation" - every Economist has said it is a mistake and will only allow the Oil companies to raise the price of gas due to the raise in DEMAND with the tax cut. Hillary says, when asked what her economists said to her idea, that she wasn't going to make decisions based on what other groups say. Absurd! A good leader doesn't think he/she knows it all, but asks for the advice otf other experts before making decisions.
As far as being a better diplomat especially when dealing with foreign leaders... definitely Obama. He has a calm and soothing manner, willing to see all sides and to listen to new ideas. She thinks she knows it all, is hot-headed and pisses people off with her br manner. She called Russia's leader Putin "souless" to which he replied, "It's takes a head to be head of state." I'd rather have someone respected in the world running our country.
She also doesn't "play by the rules" and puts her own "spin" on reality to suit her own need for power.
And finally, only Sen Obama has put his money where his mouth is - his first job out of college was to help those in the slums of Chicago to improve themselves. He earned a very low wage and worked in inner city conditions. He earned his law degree so that he could help those underprivledged as he worked as a community organizer. Clinton worked for a Law firm representing large corporations and has always been on the side of corporate lobbyists.
Don't "gamble" on our future - vote Obama!

Barack Obama does what's right NOT what is popular.Gas tax my A$$, LONG TERM solutions not short term quick $30 fixes. Bill Clinton should have proposed Hillary's so called Energy Plan. To little to late. WEST VIRGINIA FOR BARACK.

Race shouldn't matter anymore. AGE is the problem. All these old guys have f'd our country up so bad we can't afford to go on vacation (even if we wanted to, we couldn't because no other country wants to host the idiots who elected Bush into office).
Speaking of guys, gender isn't the problem either. Old people are old people. Hillary's 60! McCain's 849! It's crap. Barack is 46, he understands the ideals my generation stands for and the issues facing people under 50 because he IS under 50.
I'm 27 and i feel like my generation is so past the race issue that generally the only people bringing it up are...you guessed it....people over 50.

Well i must say..i had doubts before and to be completely honest i WAS pretty unsure about our potential president being named Hussein, however after reading most of your comments i will definatly consider a vote from yours truly towards our first Black president EVER, Barack Obama.

Presidential candidates in Nevada debate discussed issue (foreign financial institutions/go vernments purchasing USA), of which Hillary was asked about in an interview with Neil Cavuto on the FOX Business Network . She replied that she would not “stand in the way” of such investments, but said that they needed to be vetted and called for more disclosure and “transparency.” Fact is that Hillary Clinton is totally unable to be objective on this key question of our national financial sovereignty because she and her husband have been so compromised by their financial dealings with the very countries at issue in the decision.
Should Saudi monarchy be permitted to purchase equity position in America’s leading banks? Can Hillary be objective when the same monarchy donated $10 million to the Clinton Library/Foundat ion?
How can Hillary decide fairly when Bill — and therefore herself — have been getting a reported $10 million per year from a fund that administers investments of the Emir of Dubai, the largest component state in the UAE?

Come on guys, do not let Hillary Clinton receive the nomination. We need new politics, not a political dynasty of bushs and clintons for twenty some odd years. We need dramatic change quickly and Barack Obama is the candidate to bring about that needed change. Not Hillary who has been so attached to the way of corrupted Washington. And shame on Bill Clinton for attacking Obama on telling a hopeful message, saying that its a fairy tale. Thats just my two cents.

I don't like the idea of John Kerry supporting Obama. Kerry speaks of the two of them shattering the mold into a million pieces. Isn't Kerry the mold???

Supporters of Obama, do not stoop to the narrow mindedness of Terri and others who vote against somebody because of his/her name, color, religion, sex, or other superfluous characteristic! We do not represent open minds very well if we stoop to their level. I believe Obama would make a find President and we need the finest of all candidates to restore the American image in the world to something they don't sneer at or laugh at as well as digging our country out of the economic black hole Bush has gotten us in. Come on guys, we are above this!!! WE are the thinkers and the accepting party!

So why is Barack the only candidate who seems to truly understand the principles of the constitution? The main job of our president is to make sure that the rights of Americans are protected and that rights guaranteed by the constitution are available for all. I'm positive Obama is the only candidate that shows the genius and insight of our founding fathers.

Sure...I think Obama should run for president, and why not? It would be nice to see a black man finally on the campaign trail who has a great chance at accomplishing something great.
Unfortuna tely, I don't think he would win because America is just not quite ready for it like I am, but the idea is nice.

Online Biographies:
1. Here is the internet's equivalent of a very long and detailed Barack Obama biography.
2. If instead you want the quick version, heres the fast Barack Obama bio that will get you up to speed.
3. A section for Barack Obama's wife Michelle Obama since she is so active in her husband's campaign.

Misspelled name:
His name is somewhat easy to spell wrong. Some of the most popular misspellings are Barak Obama or even Baraka Obama, Barac Obama, Barach Obama, and similar to the hilariously funny movie Borat is Borak Obama.

Other campaign resources:
Interesting Blog Articles: Links to some of the stories I find that I think other people should probably see.

Grassroots supporter websites: If you/your group is supporting Obama and not on this list, then lets exchange links!
