What people are saying:page 1 of 1:
As an older white woman, by all rights I should be supporting Hillary Clinton ... BUT I have done a lot of research on both candidates, listened carefully to every debate and their campaign speeches and have decided to support Sen. Obama. Here are my reasons:I visited each candidates web site and did research on the things they claim to have done during their "experience" in the political arena. Hillary has claimed the SCHIP program. In fact this program was created by Ted Kennedy not Hillary. She never mentions his name on her website but takes credit for this program. She does not have the "foreign policy" experience she claims to have. She also failed to get people working together to pass her universal health care program in the 90#039;s. And as Senator she mismanaged the billions of funds she got after 9/11 - the money went to large corporations not the "people" and companies not even located in NY. Her mis-statements go far beyond dodging bullets in Bosnia. I do not believe anything she says. It#039;s all just to get your vote.I watched each of them manage their campaign and I learned this:Sen. Obama has done an excellent job finding the right people for the right job. He inspires his people and the voters including the young. He has managed to raise more money from ordinary folks like you and I than any other candidate EVER - over 1.3 million people, not from large corporations wanting something in return. He is an excellent leader. As far as the gas tax "vacation" - every Economist has said it is a mistake and will only allow the Oil companies to raise the price of gas due to the raise in DEMAND with the tax cut. Hillary says, when asked what her economists said to her idea, that she wasn#039;t going to make decisions based on what other groups say. Absurd! A good leader doesn#039;t think he/she knows it all, but asks for the advice otf other experts before making decisions. As far as being a better diplomat especially when dealing with foreign leaders... definitely Obama. He has a calm and soothing manner, willing to see all sides and to listen to new ideas. She thinks she knows it all, is hot-headed and pisses people off with her brass manner. She called Russia#039;s leader Putin "souless" to which he replied, "It#039;s takes a head to be head of state." I#039;d rather have someone respected in the world running our country. She also doesn#039;t "play by the rules" and puts her own "spin" on reality to suit her own need for power. And finally, only Sen Obama has put his money where his mouth is - his first job out of college was to help those in the slums of Chicago to improve themselves. He earned a very low wage and worked in inner city conditions. He earned his law degree so that he could help those underprivledged as he worked as a community organizer. Clinton worked for a Law firm representing large corporations and has always been on the side of corporate lobbyists.
