I think The word Barack comes from the word Baraka, wich is swahili word meaning Blessings.
Many Blacks used to change the spellings of their names to make it look more in English as it is for Barack Obama, wether its Arabic I dont mind as Swahili has borrowed words from Arabic.

I LOVE HIS IDEAS,CARISMA AND HIS ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE TO PEOPLE AND GIVE THEM HOPE. BUT THERE'S STILL ONE THORN STUCK IN ME. I WISH SOMEONE OR EVEN BETTER ,BARAKA CAN ANSWER THIS QUESTION. IT SHOWS HILARY CLINTO,BILL RICHARSON,RUTH HARKIN AND BARAKA OBAMA DURING THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE.OBAM A REFUSED TO NOT ONLY PUT HIS HAND ON HIS HEART DURING THE PLEDGE ,BUT REFUSED TO SAY THE PLEDGE. IF HE CAN EXPLAIN THIS PICTURE TO ME , THEN MAYBE HE'LL GET MY VOTE.

Obama has three choices when "Billary" leaves, the one that I do not like is "pay off her campaign debts" . . . She has plenty of money, and the money that we Americans gave to the Obama campaign should be used to elect him president, just leave "Billary" out of the equation all togather. We have had it up to our eye balls with their brand of politics. Let them go back to Arkansas and raise pigs or open up a o shop.

Baraka Obama's heart for a more perfect union and the hope for a better America are wonderful and seem to come from a depth of sincerity and a desire to better America. However, it cannot become reality without a more perfect union between these goals and moral values. For example, in the African American Community according to the CDC, each year 616,074 African Americans are born. 458,500 babies will have died from abortion.
284,877 blacks will have died that same year through anything from natural causes to heart disease.
There are 743,377 Africans Americans dying yearly. This number is 127,303 more than those that are born.
From 1973 to 2004, nearly 30% of the black population were erased through abortion. Early promoters of abortion did so because of racial bias. Losing our African Americans is not good for this country.
Respect and kindness and legal fairness toward those practicing homosexuality is part of our constitution. But a wide range of research shows that anyone who embraces the homosexual lifestyle at the age of 20 has a 30% chance of dying or contracting HIV by the age of 30. Promoting of homosexulaity in the schools as is now being done is not consistent with healthcare for all.
Also recent statistics show that the break up of families directly results in an increase of poverty for children. Policies that redefine the family or negatively affect that structure are not consistent with the well being of America's children.
